Solar activity remained very low for almost all months of July and August. A minor group of spots appeared in the south hemisphere on August 5th, then the photosphere returned spotless with only few minor faculae visible close to the limb.
Chromospheric activity was also low, no major prominences appeared although in these last weeks there is some sign that the situation is about to change. On day 25th some small but beautiful limb prominences appeared in several places, the biggest on the NE limb, a fine view in H alpha and calcium light.
Short filaments have always been present on the chromospheric disc.
